Planning permission refused for the construction of waterworks outside the village of Redcross.

The village of Redcross, County Wicklow is a haven of rustic tranquillity and a former winner of the Tidy Towns Competition. Although Redcross has many of the necessities of civilised living, there is no running water.

The villagers have been refused planning permission to erect a waterworks outside the village and must continue to use the local pump for their water supply.

The people are sick of pumping water and making do with an inadequate sewage disposal system.
