The sun shines as people enjoy the beach, have fun on the water and the RDS prepares for the Dublin Horse Show.
On the August bank holiday weekend, Dublin airport is busy with returning holidaymakers and foreign travellers arriving in Ireland. Trains and buses across the capital were packed as people got out of the city and headed to the coast. The fine weather saw hundreds on Portmarnock beach enoying the sunshine.

In the midlands, people took cruise boats out on the river Shannon. In Dublin, the Monstown Dún Laoghaire Dog Show was a big attraction for canine lovers. Preparations were also underway in Ballsbridge for the Dublin Horse Show at the RDS.
On the south side of Dublin, Killiney beach too was packed with bathers and sun worshippers. Suburban trains were packed, taking people along the Dublin coastline. Roads were busy across Ireland with people on the move.
