Boxers climb into a ring erected on Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain.
Tony Heffernan, one of the founders of the Bee for Battens charity, came up with the idea to have boxers sparring on Carrauntoohil. Tony Heffernan has two children, Saoirse and Liam, who have been diagnosed with Batten disease. The boxing event was all about raising public awareness about this rare and incurable illness.

Eleven boxers left base camp shortly after nine o'clock this morning. The boxing ring was transported to the slopes of Carrauntoohil by helicopter and put in place by volunteers. Then it was time for the boxing to begin. Professional boxers Willie Casey and Christine McMahon were only too happy to get involved and experience what it is like to fight on the highest mountain in Ireland and raise awareness for the charity.
