The Animal Sanctuary of Ireland cares for stray, unwanted and distressed cats and dogs.
Animal lovers Anne and Michael Seery run the Animal Sanctuary of Ireland kennels at Boherboy in Saggart, County Dublin. The Animal Sanctuary of Ireland is a limited company operating under licence from the Minister for Industry and Commerce. The sanctuary is run by subscriptions from members throughout the country for the care of cats and dogs at the Saggart centre.
Since it began operating, homes have been found for more than 300 dogs and as many cats. There is a huge problem of stray cats and dogs roaming the streets. At present, Anne and Michael Seery are caring for about 50 dogs and 20 cats. The Animal Sanctuary of Ireland is in urgent need of funds to provide food, shelter and cover veterinary services.
