The construction of a second jetty in Rosslare will relieve congestion and help port business to grow.

At present, Rosslare harbour has just one roll-on roll-off facility which is being used by British Rail and Irish Continental ferry services. The limited facilities can be problematic, particularly in bad weather when there are delays.

The present problem in Rosslare is congestion in the harbour.

With a growing amount of traffic travelling through Rosslare, CIÉ has proposed the introduction of a second jetty. Liam Murphy, Director of South Eastern Regional Development Organisation, wants to see this second jetty provided as soon as possible to allow Rosslare to continue to grow. He believes that a second jetty would be an asset to the entire island of Ireland with links to Britain and mainland Europe.
