Tralee group Dan Paddy Andy perform a song dedicated to their namesake Dan Paddy Andy O'Sullivan.

While Dan Paddy Andy are based in Tralee, three of the four members hail from Northern Ireland. Formed in March 1984, the lineup includes brothers Sean and Thomas Creaney, Eamon Campbell, and John Curtain from Brosna, County Kerry. The song is titled 'DanPaddyAndy'.

The band performed at the National Stadium in Dublin on 3 November 1984 as part of the Festival of Irish Folk series on the same night as Dubliners Paddy Reilly and Jim McCann.

This performance was broadcast on 'Festival Folk' on 12 July 1985.

The band adopted the name 'Dan Paddy Andy' while playing a session with Donie Moore, who was the drummer with Stagalee, at his house in Lyreacrompane, when he suddenly stopped playing and told them that 'Dan Paddy Andy' was born in the house. Initially, their reaction was that they didn't know who 'Dan Paddy Andy' was. When Donie told them about Dan Paddy Andy, they decided to name their band after him. Dan Paddy Andy, born Daniel O'Sullivan, was a legendary matchmaker in the Kerry region during the 1930s and 1940s. John B Keane chronicled his life in a book 'Man of the Triple Name' (1984).
