People on the streets of Dublin recall the last romantic thing that happened to them. These include being whisked away on a surprise trip, breakfast in bed, and an extra-marital arrangement.

One woman laughs,

The romance ended when we married.

For one man the most recent romantic occurrence that he can think of was,

Another man offers,

She bought a candle.

When pushed to reveal the great romantic lover they would most like to spend an evening with, the people of Dublin do not hold back. Many people pick Hollywood stars such as Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Steve McQueen, Omar Sharif, Brigitte Bardot, Raquel Welsh, Sophia Loren and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Stars of the small screen named are, Mike Murphy, Gay Byrne and

Gay Byrne’s wife.

A woman considers Argentine tennis player Guillermo Vilas as her ideal date. Two others select the pop stars Leo Sayer and David Essex.

A married woman refuses to pick a fantasy romantic partner,

I wouldn’t consider going with anybody else, only my husband.
