The biggest collection of model railways and trains ever to go on shown in Ireland.

The South Dublin Railway Club holds a model railway exhibition at Wesley College in Dundrum.

With more than one mile of railway track, two hundred engines and 12,000 square feet of displays, this exhibition must surely be the model railway enthusiasts dream.

The club has 35 enthusiastic members who are already making plans for an even bigger exhibition in the future.

There are 200 model engines and carriages dating from the end of the 19th century to the present day on show at the exhibition. Even in the age of supersonic planes, railways still have an appeal to old and young.

One of the star attractions at the show is the railway collection of the late Cyril Fry which includes a restored Ballybunion monorail model.
