Women occupy the BBC in Belfast to protest at Maze Prison conditions for Loyalist prisoners.
A large group from the Loyalist Women's Association entered the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) offices on Ormeau Avenue in Belfast. The women plan to remain there to highlight the conditions of Loyalist detainees and prisoners held in the Maze Prison (also known as Long Kesh).
The peaceful protest is confined to the ground floor and programme broadcasts remain unaffected. A spokeswoman tells reporters that the group have taken this action as a last resort.
We intend to stay here as long as we get our views met, and something done about this.
