Plans announced to improve and develop amenities along the River Moy at Ballina in County Mayo.
Ballina Urban Council members approve a plan to develop the Moy river bank in areas in and near the town.
The project is being prepared by landscape planner Niall Hyde, after consultation with council members and submissions from local interests.
There'll be promenades along the river-banks from the outskirts of Ballina into the town centre.

The area will get a general clean up and there will be jetties, picnic areas and tree planting.
The River Moy is famous for its salmon fishing. The development work is still to be costed but is expected to be phased over several years. Also planned, is a new £1 million drainage scheme.
