Boys from Bray attend a GAA football camp at The Franciscan Abbey in Multyfarnham.

Sixty boys from St Fergal's parish in Bray, County Wicklow spend some of their summer holidays attending a Gaelic football course held at The Franciscan Abbey in Multyfarnham, County Westmeath.

This is the second time the club has been invited to the agricultural college by director Fr Ulic Troy who is also chairman of Westmeath County Board.

The course is co-ordinated by the parish priest of St Fergal's Father Ralph Lawless.

Course attendees range in age from 10 - 16 years and coaches, including inter-county players and club members, teach the intricate skills of Gaelic football.

The day begins with a three mile jog before breakfast followed by mass, then coaching on the GAA fields with matches in the evening. Outside matches take place at Cusack Park against St Loman's Mullingar and the Mullingar U14 team.

When the boys are not playing football,

They still have time to go on hikes swimming in nearby Lough Derravaragh, handball in the college alley and tours of the college farm given by the staff.

The boys also go fishing in the River Gaine which flows through Multyfarnham.
