Style is to the fore at the Punchestown Races on Ladies Day.

Two ladies who drew the most attention were jockey Charmain Hill and her mare Dawn Run, who was paraded at Punchestown. The champion Cheltenham hurdler who is trained by Paddy Mullins was greeted with delight by punters.

Charmain Hill had to wait until 1973 for Irish authorities to grant her permission to race and would like to see more women jockeys. She does not think that the issue lies with male jockeys,

I think the people at the top are a bit against us.

Fortune teller Madam Lee is also at the races. She has been busy over the past two days, telling clients which way their luck would go

They came back and they told me...they made a few bob.
