The Saw Doctors are back at number one with a cover version that raises money for charity.

Tuam band The Saw Doctors are at number one in the Irish charts for the first time in 17 years. The return to the top comes after the release of a charity single which has raised thousands of euros for a cystic fibrosis fund at Salerno Secondary School in Salthill.

It all began on the Podge and Rodge Show where The Saw Doctors got roped into playing the Sugababes song 'About You Now'.

Following the success of the performance, the band released their version of the Sugarbabes hit 'About You Now' as a charity single in memory of Salerno pupil Emily Feeney who died from cystic fibrosis last December. Emily's mother Eileen Feeney says her daughter would be very proud of her classmates. The Saw Doctors manager Ollie Jennings presented the school with a cheque for €10,000.

Sister Gerarda Lawler, principal at the Salerno Secondary School in Salthill, has nothing but praise for the girls and The Saw Doctors. Jarleth Feeney Emily's father is delighted to see The Saw Doctors back at the top of the charts.
