Things to do on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Sailing at Howth, fishing at a Phoenix Park pond, and a visit to Dublin Zoo are just some of the activities enjoyed by young and old alike.
For some people, the cool breezes were a welcome addition to the bank holiday.
Not everyone is enjoying a day of leisure. At the RDS in Ballsbridge, preparations were underway for the 110th Dublin Horse Show. This year the show has a record prize fund of almost £22,000.
In a new competition, there's a prize of a car to encourage what the RDS calls attractively dressed and suitably groomed ladies to attend this year's show.
