The National Aquatic Centre is a new sporting arena offering fun leisure areas and facilities for elite swimmers.
The National Aquatic Centre is a state of the art amenity that includes leisure and competition swimming pools. The centre will host swimming events during the Special Olympics World Games in June and the European Short Course Championship in December.
Some young water enthusiasts got to try out the facilities and gave it the thumbs up.
The 50 metre pool is the third of its kind in Ireland will attract elite athletes. The centre also features an arena with seating for 2,500 spectators.
John Treacy of the Irish Sports Council hopes that the centre will encourage more people to participate in sport. Kieran Ruttledge, Chief Executive of Dublin Waterworld, who are to manage the venue hopes that the top class facilities will help produce Irish swimmers who can compete for medals at future Olympic games.
It's taken Irish swimming to the top of the league in terms of facilities.
