The bloodstock sales paddock at the RDS is to be sold to AIB who plan to build a new headquarters.
Breeders and owners have been flocking to Goffs Blookstock Sales in Ballsbridge since 1887, but at the end of the year Goffs is on the move.
The Ballsbridge site is known to horse owners and breeders around the world.
However, Goffs are not moving too far as they will have a new sales paddock on the RDS complex.
When Goffs first started their livestock sales in Ballsbridge in 1887, they sold 12 horses for 1,315 guineas. In 1972, they sold more than two thousand animals for in excess of £4 million.
The decision to sell the bloodstock sales site follows the decision by the RDS to sell the Masonic School on the Ballsbridge Road. A spokesperson for the RDS said the money from the sale would go towards the purchase and development on the Masonic School site.
The sale of the bloodstock ring is subject to Aliied Irish Banks getting planning permission to build their new headquarters on the site.
They hope to centralise their operations together with a computer centre in the proposed Ballsbridge building.
