Gas supply to the town of Sligo to end with production of coal gas to cease at the town gasworks.
After 120 years supplying gas to homes in Sligo the production of coal gas will be discontinued at the gasworks. Workers clear the last coals in the Sligo Gas Company yard, bringing an end to the coal gas era.
