People make the most of the good weather at the seaside town of Bangor in County Down.

With the Twelfth of July fortnightly industrial holiday into its second week, the heatwave brings daytrippers and holidaymakers to the seaside resort of Bangor in County Down.

Twelve miles from Belfast, Bangor has a rail service connecting it with the city. It attracts many people from Belfast all keen to soak up the sun or simply watch the world go by on the promenade.

Just like everywhere else once the sun comes out, people come out to enjoy it.

One of the big attractions for children is the beach offering opportunities to paddle or build sandcastles. For others, the amusements provide the fun.

Despite the daily toll of bombs and bullets, life for the vast majority of people in Northern Ireland goes on as normal.
