Calls to transform the civil service to be a more efficient organisation able to adapt to new circumstances.

The civil service has been criticised for being out-dated, cumbersome and inefficient. A government commission has been appointed to examine the structure and operation of the civil service and to establish what improvements can be made. As part of this investigation there has been a call made to the public for ideas on what improvements could be made.

John Devlin of the Public Services Organisation Group points out that the time has come for change to the civil service as there has been no radical change over the last 40 years.

The time has come when one needs to have a look at the organisation and equip it for the future.

John Devlin has appealed to the public for submissions regarding what should change in the civil service. The Public Services Organsiation Group is interested in hearing what people have to say but so far nobody has reacted.
