Members of the Defence Forces tackle six weirs during a six mile canoe race down the River Liffey.
Forty four competitors took to the water in Lucan for the first ever All Army Canoe Race over a six mile stretch of the River Liffey to the Garda Rowing Club at Islandbridge.
Competitors were drawn mainly from the Eastern and Curragh Commands and braved six weirs on the journey providing plenty of excitement for spectators.
The race was won by Sergeant Jock Kelly from The Curragh who was presented with his trophy by Colonel JJ Quinn.
