Slightly disappointed with the Caravaggio masterpiece The Taking of Christ a Cork artist has a go at making it better.

Caravaggio's 'The Taking of Christ' hangs in the National Gallery of Ireland, and Tom Brennan's interpretation of the same painting hangs in the AIB in Midleton, County Cork.

Tom started painting twenty years ago. After attending a conference on Caravaggio, he had a few quibbles with the master's work.

The picture wasn't in keeping with good academic composition.

For Tom, the representation of Judas in the painting was not a good example of Caravaggio's work. Undaunted by the task of improving on a fifty million pound art treasure, he went into the studio to create his version of 'The Taking of Christ' resulting in a masquerade in a million.

Some AIB customers give their views on the reworking of Caravaggio's famous painting that now hangs in the local bank branch.

Is this the original Caravaggio?
