Hand written pages and published articles by the the 1916 Rising leader James Connolly are among a number of items to be auctioned. Auctioneer Fonsie Mealy says the Connolly papers are

Quite valuable because of their uniqueness. They are the largest collection of Connolly papers extant outside of the National Library or anywhere like that or any other repository for such papers.

Other rare items for sale in the auction are a collection of coloured diaries relating to the Royal Yacht Club in Cork before it had its royal charter. While a rare book of poems by Shelley printed on vellum is expected to fetch over £3,000.
