Is a spate of car theft and joyriding in Dublin exaggerated by the media?

'Slants' takes a look at the media coverage of car theft and so called joyriding hat has managed to convince the people of Dublin that they are living in a state of war.

Car thieves describe what motivates them to joyride and give their views thought on how it is reported by the media.

It is just the fun in getting chased and all. The fun is not getting caught anyway. Once you get away that is the fun out of it.

Two commentators also offer their views one of whom maintains there was a major crime wave, while the other insists that the newspapers have not fully verified what they are reporting.
