The Institute of Industrial Research and Standards take a look at some of the more dangerous toys on offer in Ireland.
Most toys will mean joy for children but for a small minority there are dangers. There are some toys that are dangerous and are in breach of health and safety regulations.
In Ireland there is a watch dog at the Institute of Industrial Research and Standards, who have come up with a rule book called 'The Irish Standard Specifications for Children's Toys'.
Alan Porter, the Director of Standards shows RTÉ News some of the more dangerous toys including a paraffin lamp and tin soldiers.
