The largest public book signing in Ireland is for 'The Whoseday Book' to raise money for the hospice movement.

Over 200 of the 366 contributors to 'The Whoseday Book' turned up at the RDS to sign copies for large queues of people.

'The Whoseday Book' is a desk diary for the year 2000 featuring contributions from Irish writers, artists, musicians and public figures. Among the contributors present were fashion designers John Rocha and Louise Kennedy, artist Louis le Brocquy and writer Colm Tóibín, one of the original organisers of the project.

The book was edited by Marie Donnelly, Chair of the Irish Hospice Foundation, who says all sale proceeds will go to the movement.
