Gardaí in Cork have ruled out foul play after the discovery of the body of a man in Mallow yesterday.

This follows the results of a post-mortem examination carried out on the man's body today.

The deceased, who was aged in his 60s and lived alone, was discovered by relatives at his home at Bridge Street in Mallow at around 5pm yesterday and gardaí were alerted.

There was no sign of forced entry or a struggle in the flat near the centre of Mallow.

The flat was cordoned off by gardaí and the man's body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
