A significant fire is burning over the Guagán Barra valley in County Cork tonight.

The blaze is so far confined to an inaccessible area of the hills but locals are concerned a change in wind direction could push the fire towards the forest.

The Guagán Barra Valley is famed for its forestry and picturesque church.

The fire has been burning for over a day now, right on the Cork and Kerry border.
