Met Éireann is forecasting that the remnants of tropical storm Helene will pass over the country on Monday night.

It says this is expected to bring high intensity rainfall over a short timeframe.

However, the storm is expected to move quickly through the country clearing overnight on Monday. Winds are expected to be strongest at sea and along the south and southeast coasts.

The forecaster has said strong winds look likely to affect Waterford and the counties of south Leinster.
