A post-mortem examination is to be carried out on the body of a man in his 50s who was found dead on a street in Cork earlier today.

The man's body was found on Wandesford Quay near the city centre just after 6am.

The body was removed to Cork City Morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted later.

It is understood that gardaí are not treating the man’s death as suspicious.
