Gardaí are investigating a shooting in Dublin this evening, less than a week after the 14th murder in the ongoing feud between the Hutch and Kinahan crime gangs.
At around 9.45pm, shots were fired on the South Circular Road near the National Stadium where a juvenile boxing tournament was taking place.
A 44-year-old convicted armed robber, who is known to gardaí, was shot in the foot.
A second person, believed to be a student with no links to criminality, is also believed to have received pellet wounds in the crossfire.
Gardaí believe two gunmen wearing ski masks were involved.
The scene has been preserved and gardaí at Kevin Street are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Gardaí are treating the shooting as attempted murder.
Gardaí have put extra security measures in place, including armed patrols.
