All rail services recommenced on Monday evening after an incident at Raheny DART station caused major delays.

Commuters were warned to expect disruption, with gardaí and emergency services called to the scene.

The line between Howth Junction and Clontarf had been closed but was later re-opened, with all services operating with knock-on delays.

DARTs remained in operation throughout the day between Greystones and Clontarf, and Dublin Bus accepted rail tickets.

There were bus transfers in operation between Dublin Connolly and Drogheda.
