A 28-year-old man from Co Tipperary has been charged with the murder of a Waterford woman.
Daniel Whelan, who is originally from Thurles, was brought before a sitting of Waterford District Court this morning.
He is charged with the murder of Samantha Walsh, a 31-year-old mother of four.
Ms Walsh's body was found in an apartment on Thomas Street in Waterford city last Friday.
The court heard that when Mr Whelan was charged with her murder, he made no reply.
He was remanded in custody to appear back at Waterford court on 8 May.
