Originally a candidate for Renua, Mr Hayes is now standing as an Independent. He has been a businessman in the mid-west region for 21 years, working in accountancy, finance, taxation, business consulting and community services. He previously contested the 2014 local elections but failed to take a seat on Limerick City Council.
