You could call it the bandwagon that only the bravest political hopefuls jump on.
We're of course talking about the Irish election song.
They're a way for a candidate to get noticed when many voters might feel they're just harping on about the issues.
After all, if an election hopeful really wants to connect with their constituents, they must be singing from the same hymn sheet at the very least.
This year's contenders are all beyond the Pale, geographically speaking of course.
And they're listed in alphabetical order... you can decide who has the 'X' factor when it comes to your ballot.
1. Michael Healy-Rae (IND - Kerry)
The scion of the storied Kerry political dynasty certainly has a memorable ditty on this hands. His rallying call was written and performed by Truly Diverse, a band from his home turf.
2. Tim Jackson (IND - Donegal)
Jackson's jive (ahem) goes to the tune of the song Jackson, made famous by one Johnny Cash and his future wife June Carter in 1967 (but not penned by them). The song was recorded by the band Starmix.
3. Richard O'Donoghue (IND - Limerick County)
O'Donoghue, a county councillor, is running as an Independent after resigning from Fianna Fáil. He was the first of this quartet to release his song online.
4. Jerry O'Sullivan (IND - Cork North West)
O'Sullivan's effort was self-penned and put together with the help of some friends, including a lone bagpiper who makes a cameo at the end. He released his number to highlight flooding issues and the state of roads.
5. Blast from the Past
And finally, the grand-daddy of them all, the famous Fianna Fáil anthem from 1981 in praise of their then leader Charles Haughey.
