Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins this afternoon targeted Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly for criticism in the Dáil.

The TD, who is not contesting the forthcoming election, asked the Taoiseach if he plans to allow Dáil business proceed in the morning or if he will go straight to Áras an Uachtaráin to ask the President to dissolve the Dáil.

Mr Kenny said that the order of business for tomorrow has already been approved whereby the Dáil will sit at 9.30am.

Mr Higgins later made a charge against Minister for the Environment Alan Kelly following an interview he gave to a Sunday newspaper.

Mr Higgins told Mr Kenny: "On your way to the park, in case you meet a water charges protest can I suggest that you take your 'AK47' for protection.

"Judging by what he had to say in a Sunday paper he had so much energy he could do with a run around the park before he is unleashed on the unfortunate people of Tipperary.

"However you'd want to be careful because as a self-confessed addict, he might want to stage a coup on the way to meet the President."

He later asked what the Taoiseach would like to say to the people for making them pay the bankers’ debts.

The Ceann Comhairle ruled the question out of order.
