The Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin city centre was closed for a time this morning after a truck caught fire.

North Strand firefighters from Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the blaze.

Using high pressure hose reels, firefighters in breathing apparatus fought the fire and extinguished it at around 9.30am.

There were lane closures northbound and southbound on the bridge, but it reopened shortly after.
