Gardai in Galway are investigating an alleged assault on a man in his 40's by another man at the Spanish Arch in the city.
The incident occurred at approximately 10.30pm last night.
His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The incident occurred as the injured man was attempting to erect a Vote NO referendum poster in the Spanish Arch area of the city.
No further details are available at this stage and investigations are ongoing.
