Police in Portugal are investigating the death of an Irish man in a popular holiday resort on the Algarve.
Portuguese media are reporting that the man was found by friends at his residence in the Alto do Moinho apartments in Albufeira this morning.
A post-mortem examination is expected to take place.
The Department of Foreign Affairs told RTÉ News that it is aware of the case and stands ready to provide consular assistance.
