A metal detecting diver has reunited a prized heirloom ring with its owner.
George Edmunds was flown over from Dorset to Majorca by Belfast-born medical student Katie Patterson, to retrieve her great-grandmother's band, priced at €12,000.
Mr Edmunds is one of the first members of the British Sub Aqua Club, established in 1953.
Speaking on RTÉ's News At One, Mr Edmunds said that Katie commissioned him to fly out after she lost the ring and that it was of huge sentimental value to her.
He met Ms Patterson, who showed him where she had lost the ring and he began detecting around that area.
He used a mask, snorkel and metal detector and said the conditions were clear and warm.
The diver said it took him 50 minutes to find the ring.
"She was absolutely speechless and over the moon. It was worth all of the effort just to see the look on her face.
"It's just a hobby; something that I do when I get out into the Med," he added.

Mr Edmunds waived his fee, and explained: "Normally, what I ask of people - if I have to do a bit of travelling - is to pay my expenses that I have to incur. Normally, it's about a 10% value of whatever the object is. But, of course, if I had stuck to that with Katie, it would have cost her a thousand pounds, so I waived that."
