Four people have been killed in a helicopter crash in Norfolk in the UK.

The emergency services were called at 7.30pm following reports the aircraft had come down in Billingham, near Beccles.

Norfolk Police said the area of the crash site has been cordoned off.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk Police said: "It's a civilian helicopter, and there were four occupants on board who are all thought to have died in the crash."

It is not yet known whether fog, which beset much of England earlier today, played a factor in the crash.

A spokesman for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it will be sending a team to investigate.
