Seven children and an adult have been killed in a fire in an apartment building in Germany.
Authorities were alerted to the blaze in Backnang, a town near Stuttgart, in the early hours of the morning.
Police believe the fire broke out in a second-floor apartment and their investigation is focusing on a heater in the apartment.
Three more people were injured.
The building is part of a former leather factory that was converted into a row of three-story apartment blocks.
