A woman has been rescued from the English Channel after the light aircraft she was travelling in, crashed earlier this evening.
The woman and a man had been travelling on the light aircraft from the south of England to the island of Alderney in the Channel Islands when it ditched into the sea.
The woman is believed to have been found floating in a life raft near the wreckage of the aircraft.
She has been airlifted to hospital in France.
