The funerals have taken place in Co Down of two women stabbed to death in Turkey eight days ago.

Cathy Dinsmore was laid to rest in Warrenpoint this afternoon. Her friend Marion Graham was buried in Newry earlier.

Mourners lined the streets outside St Mary's Church in Newry to pay their final respects to Ms Graham, a mother-of-five who was killed alongside her friend in Turkey eight days ago.

Her daughter, Shannon, who had been on holiday with the two women in Kusadasi, followed her mother's coffin accompanied by her brother and three sisters.

In his homily, Fr John Byrne described Ms Graham as a ‘loving mother’ and a ‘great friend’ who lived life to the full.

This afternoon, many of those present at Ms Graham's funeral travelled the short distance to Warrenpoint for Cathy Dinsmore's requiem mass.

During the homily, Ms Dinsmore was remembered as a ‘gentle, kind and religious’ woman.

Cathy Dinsmore is survived by her two brothers, a nephew and five nieces.

The bodies of the women were returned to their homes on Wednesday, after being released from a mortuary in Izmir and flown into Dublin Airport.

They were murdered while on holiday in Turkey last Thursday.

A local waiter, who was the boyfriend of Ms Graham's daughter, Shannon, is being questioned in connection with the killings.
