Woman sexually assaulted in Newry

The PSNI has appealed for witnesses following the sexual assault of a woman in Newry, Co Down.

Detectives investigating the case said that in the early hours of Saturday, 27 February, two women in their 20s left a bar in Canal Street and walked in the direction of the courthouse.

During their journey, they were joined by a man, who they did not know.

The man then forced the women into a small carpark in the area of New Street, where he sexually assaulted one of them, and physically assaulted the other.
