It may still be a few weeks yet before St Patrick's Day, but yesterday at lunch-time in the heart of snow-covered Washington DC an unusual Irish drama was played out.

The Irish arts organisation, Solas Nua, in conjunction with the local GAA club, DC Gaels, brought 'guerrilla street' theatre to life.

The GAA and theatre players, dressed in their business suits, brought the joys of hurling to the unsuspecting lunch-time passers-by just a stone's throw from the White House in Farragut Square.

Undeterred by the biting cold and the remains of 60cm (2') of snow the group acted out their street theatre drama.
