The death of a 10-day old baby, who died from his injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital earlier today, is being treated as suspicious.

The infant and his family from Navan had gone to Lusk in Dublin yesterday to visit friends where it is believed there was an incident.

The baby was brought by relatives to the Drogheda hospital but pronounced dead in the early hours of this morning.

It is believed the infant had suffered what appeared to be a head injury.

A post mortem examination on the baby was carried out today and a house in Lusk, remains sealed off as the garda investigation continues.
