Flood warning remains in Cork

Cork City centre has escaped flooding tonight, after high tide passed without incident.

However, a flood warning, issued by Cork City Council, remains in place.

The council has warned that the combination of spring tides, heavy rain, south-easterly winds and low pressure may lead to flooding this weekend.

Businesses and householders in low-lying areas of the city centre were asked to take precautionary measures to protect property.
