Shots fired at police in Fermanagh

Shots were fired at PSNI officers in the Garrison area of Co Fermanagh tonight.

It is understood that police returned fire.

A major security operation involving the PSNI and gardaí was launched along the border.

In a separate incident, a car was driven through a security barrier in the Clarendon Dock area of Belfast and subsequently caught on fire close to the headquarters of the Policing Board.

Two men were seen running away from the car. Another car was later found burned out in north Belfast.

No damage was caused to the building.

The incident occurred at around 7.30pm.
