The family of an Irish priest who was kidnapped in the Philippines say they are worried about his health.

Father Michael Sinnott, aged 79, was abducted at gunpoint from his home in the southern Phillipines last weekend.

The Columban missionary underwent a quadruple heart bypass operation four years ago.

Speaking on RTÉ's Late Late Show last night, his niece, Mary O'Keeffe said the family was living from hour to hour hoping for a telephone call with news of his release.
