A search off the south Wexford coast was called off after it was established that an earlier report of a boat capsizing was a false alarm.
There had been unconfirmed reports that two young men were missing following the capsizing of a small boat not far from Arthurstown.
Marine rescue said a search involving dozens of Coast Guard, RNLI personnel and gardaí around the River Suir estuary was stood down on Christmas Eve.
